Please clarify one part to a 5/2 answer (below). On the ’17-’18 Kia Soul it was okay to screw into the footrest metal under the plastic, but on the ’21 I’m not certain what, if anything, is in that footrest cavity to where drilling 4ea. 1/4-20 screws .38-50” deep into the metal is okay.
