Assuming the linkage between the throttle pedal and the engine is unobstructed (something you can check visually by checking around the gas pedal or floor mat for foreign objects that may be obstructing the path of the gas pedal), a sticky gas pedal is almost always due to accumulation of unwanted goo at the throttle body. This makes the action of opening and closing the throttle a notchy, imprecise operation.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • Throttle body is stuck
  • Gas pedal sensor malfunction
  • Accelerator cable broken
  • Accelerator pedal return spring broken

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the stuck gas pedal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

A stuck gas pedal presents a potentially dangerous situation and should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.

Ford Focus L4-2.0L - Window Motor / Regulator Assembly Replacement (Driver Side Front) - Denver, Colorado
Courteous, professional, on time, had all the right parts and was done in an hour. Did the work in the snow outside I might add, and seemed more than happy to do so, even though I know it was hell. But this repair was just in time since it was a broken window motor, and we're getting our first snow the same day of the repair. Very grateful for the help, and felt the pricing was very fair too for coming out to my home and getting this done! Thanks kindly!
