When you expect your vehicle to show everyone that you have truly arrived, while being greener than some of the other luxury options, the 2012 Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid needs to be on your list. Add in the fact that you’ll also get outstanding performance and complete comfort, and you’ll quickly gain an even greater appreciation for the S-Class line.
The 2012 Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid features a “mild” hybrid system, which means that it can’t depend solely on electric power. It works by reducing the amount of fuel needed, while increasing the amount of power. Together, these systems provide 295 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque to create reactive performance, all while regenerative braking keeps the electricity going back into the battery.
Changes for 2012
The S400 Hybrid did not receive any changes for the 2012 model year, instead relying on the relatively recent facelift it received in 2010.
What We Like
There’s plenty to like about a hybrid that delivers exceptional luxury, tons of standard features and plenty of available upgrades. With all the accoutrements that go with the 2012 Mercedes Benz S400 Hybrid, it’s nice to discover a vehicle that is just as nice to be a passenger in as it is to drive it. With Active Body Control and Crosswind Stabilization the ride quality is exceptional. Then, with options such as the Splitview interface in the center stack that lets the driver access one source while the passenger watches a movie, the ride and experience just become more enjoyable for everyone.
