Over the past several years, Buick has returned to form when it comes to luxury sedans, and the 2012 Buick LaCrosse is a standout even when compared to some of the other big names in luxury.
Key Features
The 2012 Buick LaCross has a 2-way power passenger seat and an 8-way power driver seat. The passenger and the driver’s seats are height adjustable. The vehicle has remote keyless power door locks, power mirrors, one-touch power windows, cruise control, a sun sensor, leather steering wheel, and leather and simulated wood trim on the shifter knob, and much more.
Changes for 2012
In 2012, they added a hybrid model to their LaCrosse line. One of the other notable changes in 2012 was the addition of a V6 that offered more power compared to engines in previous years.
What We Like
When it comes to looks, inside and out, the car shines. It has a great and comfortable interior, and it drives smoothly. It has excellent performance, and well as fantastic safety features.
What Concerns Us
We like quite a bit about the 2012 Buick LaCrosse, but there are some things that may give some buyers a bit of a pause. The vehicle does not have as much storage space as you may need. In addition, there doesn’t seem to be enough visibility out of the back window. While there are plenty of features, the control layout seems congested.
Available Models
The vehicle features a hybrid engine, and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 3.6-liter V6 offers 303 horsepower @ 6,800 RPM and 264lb of torque @ 5,300 RPM. The vehicle is able to get 17 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway.
Major Recalls
Since 2012, there have been three major recalls for the 2012 Buick LaCrosse. The first recall was for the seat height adjuster bolt, which could fall out. If that were to occur while driving, it could increase the risk of a crash. Another recall was for issues with the hybrid battery charging. The third recall was for issues with the electronic stability control, as some had incorrect calibrations, which could prevent the warning light from coming on if there were an issue with the system.
Common Issues
Consumers have also complained about several issues with the vehicle. Some have found that their vehicles have engines that rev too high, which causes them to consume more gas than they should. Others have had issues with the engines starting. Other issues were that the AC and the defroster were not working properly.
