Business owner and disabled veteran here, I can't tell you what to do but if this mechanic is assigned to you I would graciously decline. On or around the 15 of may I was scheduled for a alternator switch out at 5:30 the mechanic check did not arrive till 7:20. As he checks the alternators he immediately voices that they are not the same and he has the wrong one. I watched as he use his power tools to on the screw and bang on the alternator across the brushless motors that gather electricity and send current through the vehicle. He continued not once calling for new part or just rescheduling for tomorrow. Went upstairs came back down he was ready I crank the car up I was getting a grinding coming from the alternator and the battery light was still on. I knew the sound had to come from him manhandling that part he said he would have someone sent over in the morning to bring a new alternator and fix the problem of it not charging the vehicle system. I received no call I called the you are mechanics customer service number they responded curiously to me as if they didn't believe what I was saying. Undoubtedly the mechanic cast in and never told them that he did not finish the job and that he destroyed my part. When the inspector came I showed him the piece that he took off and I told him exactly what happened and he had to admit that he wasn't there for that just to see if the warranty of the part had been honored. But after I showed him what I saw he said oh yeah that's wrong and he saw how it was jerry-rigged and made a note about it. Which led to me getting my inspection for free which it should have been anyways if the mechanic was honest to his staff working crew or Corporation. I would like an apology and I should get a partial refund due to the unprofessionalism. He made double work for someone they had to come check his work and then do his job correctly for him. Beware
