What is the Door Mirror all about?

Mirrors are important safety features that allow drivers to see their surroundings. Most cars have at least three mirrors, one rear-view mirror and two side mirrors. Some are electric while others are manual. Since they are made of glass, they can break, which will require you to replace the whole assembly. Normally it is not feasible to just replace the glass.

Keep in mind:

  • Usually mirrors cannot be repaired, and instead need to be replaced.
  • If your mirror has suffered physical damage, it is possible that the mirror control switch has also been damaged.

How it's done:

  • Remove door panel to gain access to mirror mounting hardware.
  • Remove and replace the mirror.
  • Check operation of an electric mirror prior to panel replacement.
  • Reinstall the door panel.

Our recommendation:

Mirrors are critical for safe driving and are required by law. Have them replaced as soon possible to avoid a citation.

What common symptoms indicate you may need to replace the Door Mirror?

  • Mirror is broken.
  • Mirror does not move.

How important is this service?

Your car has three mirrors to help you see your surroundings when you drive. Your rear view mirror shows you what is behind you, while your side view mirrors show you what’s by your side, in your blind spot, and behind you at an angle. Drivers should use all three of their mirrors to make sure that they are driving as safely as possible. If one or more of your mirrors is damaged, you won’t have the same awareness of your surroundings, and you’ll be a less safe driver. Driving without a mirror is also illegal, and can result in an expensive ticket.

Mitsubishi Montero Sport V6-3.0L - Car starts and then dies - Los Angeles, California
Kenneth was professional and very informative in terms of the services I requested and explaining the general health of my car. He determined the problem immediately upon inspecting the engine of the car and determining a need to clean the throttle body. What stood out in the service was that Kenneth took the time to educate me about the different parts and processes that are going within the car, and he was very considerate by explaining everything in layman's terms. He was quick, efficient, and got the job done and more; I will definitely book him for any future auto needs.

2013 chrysler [200](/topics-200/) convertible. Recently had the [transmission](/topics-transmission-chrysler/) rebuilt and this is the first time I've taken it on a long trip at hwy speeds. I've noticed a strong vibration only when accelerating at hwy speeds. Took it into shop and got new set of tires, balanced, and they said they Had to shift the subframe to do the alignment because when they did the transmission they likely didn't center it properly. Did all that ($650) and it still shakes and appears to be getting worse. Take my foot off the gas and it stops. I have 450 miles to get home and have stopped at a motel for the night. The place that did my transmission said to bring it in and they'll check it over but I don't know if I should drive it 450 miles like this.
