Everything was great! I had Patrick come to my work and since there was another co-worker here getting their oil changed, he did my oil change a day early :) So convenient!

I have had Jason work on my car several times, he is always soft-spoken courteous honest and reliable. He only suggests what is needed for my car to run optimally and never tries to over- sell. I recommend Jason to everyone I know with a car. I am very pleased with Your Mechanic and the mechanics they employ.

Peter was friendly and knowledgeable, showing me the brake pads he removed and letting me know I may encounter some squeaking as I wore in the new ones. Could not be happier with his service, he arrived on time and completed his work before the time estimate, 100% recommend, and will use him again in the future on all of my cars! Haven't had a mechanic I have trusted more since moving to SD from NY, and you cannot beat the convenience. Thanks Peter!

All about Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

The camshaft position sensor monitors the position of the camshaft and reports that data to the car’s onboard computer system. This computer system works with sensors and other devices to keep the engine running. With data from the camshaft position sensor (CPS), the fuel injectors know when to fire. When the sensor malfunctions, the computer does not know when to fire the injectors and may not fire them at all. The faulty readouts may also throw off spark timing, which will affect the car’s fuel economy. This sensor is used in conjunction with the crankshaft position sensor to control ignition timing. It is common for heat and oil leaks to cause this sensor to fail, due to where the sensor is located.
