Assuming the linkage between the throttle pedal and the engine is unobstructed (something you can check visually by checking around the gas pedal or floor mat for foreign objects that may be obstructing the path of the gas pedal), a sticky gas pedal is almost always due to accumulation of unwanted goo at the throttle body. This makes the action of opening and closing the throttle a notchy, imprecise operation.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • Throttle body is stuck
  • Gas pedal sensor malfunction
  • Accelerator cable broken
  • Accelerator pedal return spring broken

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the stuck gas pedal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

A stuck gas pedal presents a potentially dangerous situation and should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.

BMW 323i L6-2.5L - Serpentine/Drive Belt - Chino, California
My car had a busted fan belt, so I thought. So I made an appointment to have it replaced by a mechanic from YourMechanic.com. Jesus Ramirez was my mechanic. He was on time, professional and answered all my questions. He diagnosed the problem was the bad idler pulley and so ordered additional parts. he got the problem fixed and car going again. He pointed out the leak from the power steering reservoir probably caused the pulley to go bad.

Kenneth is very knowledgeable, and doesn't mind sharing. This is my 2nd time having Ken work on one of my BMW's, and i fully trust his judgement. I would definitely recommend Ken if you have a BMW and leery like me of random people working on your car. I'll definitely schedule Ken again when the time is needed.
