Hybrid technology has been around long enough that we are not incredibly concerned that this vehicle will break down or that the battery will die. However, with the rapid advancement in auto technology, we are concerned that it may be left behind by the next big update.

Available Models

Also, called the Civic HF, there is only one model of the 2012 Honda Civic Hybrid. The engine specifications for this model include:

  • Engine – 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder and an electric motor
  • Power – 110 PH at 5500 RPM
  • Torque – 127 lb-ft at 1000-3500 RPM
  • Fuel economy (MPG city/highway) – 44/44

As of yet, there have been no major recalls of any 2012 Honda Civic Hybrids.

Common Issues

The most common issues with the 2012 Civic Hybrid include minor electrical issues and hesitation with the transmission. Some drivers have experienced a loss of power, but this was fixed with software updates, and the problem generally does not return.
