What is lubricating the steering and suspension all about?

The steering and suspension systems work together to make the vehicle handle smoothly and comfortably. Out of nowhere my car developed some serious suspension squeaks. I was told by Pep Boys that I needed to replace the upper ball joints and torsion bar. Only problem my car does't have upper ball joints. In any case, I think they were afraid to work on it. I contacted My Mechanic and Michael arrived to say let's lube all the suspension first. He did. The squeaks were gone. No other problems found. Life should be like this all the time. Michael is a top shelf mechanic. He engenders trust which can be hard to come by at a dealership.
