This was my first time using YourMechanic and Dave made this experience worth doing again. He not only took care of my oil change but checked my brakes as I mentioned I had been hearing strange noises upon breaking. He explained to me that my brakes were fine and thoroughly explained when and why I would need to fix them when the time came. I usually feel taken advantage of (because I usually am) when I get my car serviced. For the first time I feel that I had a competent, trustworthy mechanic not looking to make a quick buck, but actually do good work and provide quality customer service. I will never take my car anywhere else again!

Mark Lenhart is great. He's knowledgeable, efficient and easy to talk with. After listening to my description and thoughts on the car being shut off suddenly right on the highway, he focused right away on the battery and it's the battery cables! I was relieved because I thought it's the car security system that shutoff my car. He proceeded to charge it and checked other related components such as the alternator and the belts, while educating me about them. He also told me about his experience with the car security system. I am now comfortable with my car performance from what I learned. The cost from YourMechanic is also reasonable. I definitely recommend Mark. Thanks, Mark.

All about Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement

A Drive Belt Tensioner is a pulley mounted to either a spring mechanism or to an adjustable pivot point that is used to keep constant tension on your serpentine belt. That is the big long belt in the front of your engine. The tensioner rides on the outside surface of the belt to put pressure, or tension, on the belt and against the pulleys that drive things like the alternator, power steering, air conditioner, etc.
