Fuel Pump Replacement Service & Cost

What is the Fuel Pump all about?

The fuel pump's sole purpose is to take fuel from the fuel tank and deliver it according to the demand of the engine. When the fuel pump is working effectively, the car runs smoothly.

Keep in mind:

Before replacing the pump, first be sure that filters, fuel pickups, fuel pump relays, and electrical connectors are in good working order. A clogged fuel filter, for instance, can restrict flow and cause some of the same symptoms.

How it's done:

  • Inspect fuel pump and fuel pump relay.
  • Remove and replace fuel pump if faulty.
  • Inspect car for any signs of leakage.
  • Clear Check Engine light codes.
  • Perform basic safety inspection.
  • Test drive car.

Our recommendation:

Keep at least 1/4 tank of gas in your car at all times. Low fuel essentially makes the pump work harder and will contribute to its failure.

What common symptoms indicate you may need to replace the Fuel Pump?

  • Car hesitates to start.
  • Loss of power or “bucking” when accelerating.
  • Excessive whining sound.
  • Check Engine light is on.

How important is this service?

Your engine needs gas to run. The gas, however, is stored in the gas tank, not in the engine. When the engine needs more fuel, the fuel pump is responsible for pumping the gas from the tank to the engine, where it is used to power the vehicle. As the fuel pump deteriorates, it will be less and less efficient at pumping gas to the engine, and your vehicle will have a harder time running. When the fuel pump completely dies, it will be unable to pump gas to your engine, and your car won’t run.

Fast and easy Fuel Pump Replacement service at your home or office.
