As a person who loves doing small car maintenance myself I highly enjoyed talking to Robert and watching him doing a major job, the timing belt and water pump replacement. He showed up on time, knew all procedures by heart, answered all questions (he could be a good educator), went above and beyond in quickly finding right parts as some of them didn't fit because of minor model differences, and made sure that everything works as it should. All in all it was a great first time experience and I liked the concept of mobile mechanics. Way to go!

Chris is a super trooper and deserves High Praise! Although he arrived late (2 hours) for the scheduled appointment due to unforeseen complications on a previous job, he was professional enough to stay late into the evening to finish the installation of my defective engine starter. Chris ~ Thank you!

All about CV Axle / Shaft Assembly Replacement

Axle shafts are commonly referred to as “CV axles” or “half-shafts.” An axle shaft is a narrow, pole-like part that connects a wheel to the gears in the transmission. Axles are part of the system that enables the wheels to rotate. One end of the axle shaft is connected to the transmission and the other end is connected to the wheel. The transmission rotates the axle shafts, which rotates the wheels. Without the axles, the tires will not rotate and the car will not move. Axle shafts are comprised of four components: shaft, CV joints, grease and the boots (grease container). The most common reason for the axle to fail is because of the torn boots (grease leaking out). Without the grease, the CV joints will not get lubricated, dirt will enter the joint and the whole axle will eventually wear out.
