Outstanding! I wish Patrick was my go-to-mechanic where I live. I came to Las Vegas on business and noticed that my serpentine belt was coming apart. I searched for an auto repair shop and was told by the three shops that they were too busy. So, I took a chance on Your Mechanic. I made an appointment, provided my information, and as scheduled Patrick showed up and fixed the problem. The website, the telephone support and the onsite service and all very professional. I like how they keep you informed of what is going on before the mechanic arrives at your address. I will do this again, if I have a mechanical problem. Thank you!!!

Mark was very attentive. Kept me up to date on the status of my truck. It just so happens that my truck happened to have one thing go wrong after another and Mark came out to my house each time without complaint and eager to help. I jokingly told him,"Thanks for coming by, but I hope I don't have to see you again any time soon." With the exception of one misunderstanding, everything was great. Mark was intent on correcting the misunderstanding and showing that he has great customer service skills. Thanks!

All about Serpentine/Drive Belt Replacement

The serpentine/drive belt or v-belt is a rubber belt that connects the alternator, power steering, and AC to the part of the engine (crankshaft) which transfers the power from the engine to those components. Without this belt, the battery will not get charged and none of the electrical accessory components in the car will work. The serpentine belt and v-belt are also known as "drive belts." Because of the high amount of heat in the engine, the belt can develop cracks over time and eventually break. If the belt breaks, the steering wheel will be difficult to turn and driving will be hazardous. In some cars, water pumps are driven by the drive belts. If the belt breaks, water and coolant needed to keep the engine cool will not properly flow to the engine. The engine will overheat, potentially causing severe damage.
