Trung saved me hundreds of dollars by honestly telling me that not all of the work I requested was actually needed -- though I asked to replace four struts, he found that two of them were actually still okay and didn't need replacement. That's how I wish all mechanics were! He also helped me figure out how I could get an issue with my drive axle covered under my dealer service contract so it wouldn't cost me anything. I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again.

Very thorough, came on time. Very detailed. Let me know that nothing was in immediate danger of breaking, but did submit a quote for things that were breaking down. He even told me that the last place I went to did something wierd to my brakes, but that it was an amateur mistake and it's not very harmful, but I should still get that fixed when I can. He definitely knew his stuff. I will definitely be doing some price shopping, but if I come back I'm definitely booking Robert again. It's nice to have someone working on my car that I can trust from the get go. And honestly, the quote didn't even seem that bad.

Prompt, courteous, showed me how to see that one belt was loose and cracked from age and that the other two were cracked. He came to replace the loose one but was prepared with the others. Explained that they would be OK for awhile or he could do all at once in same hour of labor. After price check and my approval he replaced all three. Now my old '88 truck will keep on keepin' on without another belt going out. He then checked out the whole truck and made recommendations of other minor repairs but left me feeling assured that these could wait for my budget to be ready. Thank you Max.

All about Strut Assembly Replacement

The strut assembly, an essential part of your car's suspension system, is attached to the front wheels and is used to absorb road shock, providing a smooth ride. Most cars made after 1995 have shock absorbers in the rear and strut assemblies in the front suspension. Older cars may have shock absorbers at all four wheels. Faulty or damaged struts affect the ride comfort as well as the braking effectiveness. The strut assembly, located in the front or rear of the car, is basically a shock absorber with a spring coil for additional support. The front wheels have the extra weight of the engine and need extra support to absorb shock from the road. The shock absorber has a piston and a cylinder that contains a gas or liquid substance. The spring is attached to the piston. When you drive over a bump, the piston inside the cylinder moves up and down against the gas/fluid and the spring, absorbing the shock from the bump. The strut assembly takes a beating over time, especially on bumpy roads. It will eventually start leaking the gas/liquid, leaving you with an unstable or rugged ride. With worn out struts, it is possible that the tires could lose contact with the road and/or the tires will wear out prematurely.
