Assuming the linkage between the throttle pedal and the engine is unobstructed (something you can check visually by checking around the gas pedal or floor mat for foreign objects that may be obstructing the path of the gas pedal), a sticky gas pedal is almost always due to accumulation of unwanted goo at the throttle body. This makes the action of opening and closing the throttle a notchy, imprecise operation.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • Throttle body is stuck
  • Gas pedal sensor malfunction
  • Accelerator cable broken
  • Accelerator pedal return spring broken

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the stuck gas pedal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

A stuck gas pedal presents a potentially dangerous situation and should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.

Mercedes-Benz C230 L4-1.8L Turbo - Serpentine/Drive Belt - Scottsdale, Arizona
Extremely professional, showed up during the designated time window, and had all the tools & parts for the job (drivebelt replacement). Demonstrated expertise with my Mercedes. He taught me several useful tips about my car and gave me many extremely useful answers to my questions about the engine & the repair. The second portion of the maintenance (power steering fluid), he was ready to do, but advised me that it didn't really need to be done and gave me the option to decline the service. He has my highest recommendation!
