If your door refuses either to lock/unlock or open, the mechanism is likely jammed. Not unlocking/locking could be linked to the electric switch used in most modern cars today, a blown fuse, or faulty wiring. It could also be that the mechanical linkage connecting the handles to the latch is broken or jammed.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • One of the plastic clips broke and the rod fell off
  • Door kicker or relay has gone bad
  • Door lock cylinder is damaged

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the source and cause of the door lock issue, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

Without either the security provided by doors that lock or the convenience of doors that open, the car isn’t much use to anyone. Book a mechanic for a thorough inspection as soon as possible.

Jeep Wrangler L6-4.0L - Door does not lock or open - San Diego, California
He was super nice and polite, but when trying to fix door popped out the door panel a bit and never put it back. I didn't notice till I left, bet he left my jeep in worse shape than before he showed up. He unfortunately couldn't tell me what was wrong or fix so it was not a great experience, but he was super nice and seems knowledgeable about fords...I just didn't have a ford.

James came early and i like that, i was ready for him, he listen to me about the problem I had and proceed to do my vehical inspection and went staight to work on my issue, when complete we went over the what was done and I'm very satisfied with the results. I would with out a doubt call for him in the future for the next task and I'm sure it will be done and done correctly.
