There is only one thing to do when you see an oil light on: stop driving.

Motor oil is what keeps your engine’s valves, pistons and rods in good working order. Without that oil, your car can quickly turn into a several thousand pound paperweight with a large list of repairs attached to it. So when you see that light, pull off to the side. Stop driving, take your key out of the ignition, and then book a mechanic to properly diagnose the issue.

Common reasons for this to happen:

Oil level is low

Your vehicle may be burning or leaking oil.

Oil pressure sensor is malfunctioning

This part measures the oil pressure in your vehicle. If it has become detached, dirty, or has broken, your oil light may stay on. If your car’s oil gauge isn’t showing any oil pressure even though the engine didn’t making any noises, this could be the cause.

Oil pump needs to be replaced

Especially on older vehicles, oil pumps can gradually wear out which will result in a lack of oil pressure. This loss of oil pressure usually happens when a vehicle is idling or at a stop light.

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the source and cause of the oil pressure issue, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How it's done:

This is an inspection service. Mechanic will identify the problem and make repair recommendations. If the engine oil is low, mechanic will add more oil during this inspection.

How important is this service?

Neglecting an oil pressure light could lead to severe car damage. Book a mechanic to perform a thorough inspection as soon as possible.

I had a great experience. Justin was on time and very pleasant in person. He made every effort to identify the issue; to make sure he was giving me the best recommendation. He was not afraid to get dirty.....he got under my truck so quickly, without complaints; he wanted to make sure he was looking at everything, before he could make the any diagnosis. Justin went out of his way to accommodate my need; I needed oil and he made sure (without hesitation) that I got it, instead of just leaving me hanging since it was really my fault. Before handing over the keys, Justin took the truck around for a test drive; to make sure it was back in perfect working order. This was "first-class" service that I've already shared with my co-workers. Glad that I found YourMechanic services. I would most definitely use the services again and would request for Justin. He was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this experience. PERIOD.

Luke was great. He made initial contact and made sure I knew what time he would arrive. Arrived a bit earlier as he said he would try to do. This was a "warranty" visit as the previous mechanic had totally messed up. Luke was professional and found several things left UNDONE by previous mechanic. It seemed like every time he did something he found something else that had been left UNDONE by the previous mechanic. While doing so, trying to stay professional and not criticize the other guy, it became painfully obvious that he was having to redo the other guys job, and make repairs that the other guy had messed up. I might add, that he had to also repair the BRAND NEW part the other guy had damaged. Luke did a great job.
