Amazing job Steven. Thank you for taking care of the brake job on my 04 Traliblazer. i really appreciate your honesty when inspecting the rear brakes and not having to replace parts that were not worn down . I know from experience that most mechanics would take the alternative route. See you again!

Noe is both knowledgeable and amiable - a rare combination with most mechanics in my experience. I needed new brake pads on both front and rear, as well as rotors. Noe arrived on time and kindly explained I needed new calibers in the front as well. Since he needed more parts than what he prepared for, we ended up rescheduling my appointment for later in the afternoon when the additional parts were ready. Noe arrived even earlier than expected a few hours later and did a fantastic job! I loved working with him. He explained every part of the process and even gave me recommendations for some work I'm looking to do in the near future. This was my first time using Your Mechanic. I got great service, and great value for the money I spent. I will absolutely schedule service with this company in the future, and you bet I will always request Noe if he's available.

Enrique arrived and, this being the first time I used this company, I was expecting the usual mechanicy stuff: oh you're just a girl, what do you know, this is going to be MUCH more than you though, but wow was I wrong!! I asked to have the front break pads and rear break shoes replaced (My truck has both: rotors and drums) Enrique gets out of is car and greets me like a friend, and immediately put me at ease. He was honest with everything he told me, and let me see the issues that he found. Even though my truck does need more work done to it, Enrique wasn't pushy or overbearing in saying what I needed. he fixed what I asked him to, and said 'we can fix the rest as we go along' (NOT AN EXACT QUOTE) He was prompt, polite, knowledgeable, expedient, and didn't assume that because I'm a girl, that I'm stupid, like a lot of mechanics have done to me in the past. Over all, Enrique was a real gentleman and professional. I will definitely be asking for him specifically for my future repairs! 100% satisfied.

All about Brake Pad Replacement

Depending on your car’s brake system, it may use between 4 to 8 brake pads. When you step on the brake pedal, the master cylinder sends fluid under pressure to the brake calipers (which hold the brake pads). The caliper presses the brake pad against the brake rotor, causing friction that slows down the car. During normal usage of the brakes, brake pads wear out and become thinner. If the thickness of brake pads is less than 3mm, it is time to change the pads. Depending on where you drive (city driving tends to wear pads out quicker) brake pads usually last between 30,000 to 35,000 miles. Some vehicles (e.g., BMWs) are equipped with a low-pad-warning system. In these vehicles, you will also need to replace the brake sensors as part of the brake pad service.
