How Long Does a Headlight Door Motor Last?

The headlight door motor is designed to last just as long as the car. In most cases, this will not be the case due to the harsh environment that the motor has to work in. There are a number of damages that can be caused by the heat of the engine like the melting of the wires that are attached to the motor. Trying to operate the headlight doors on a car without a properly working motor is impossible and can cause even more damage.

Not having full use of the headlights on a car can be quite problematic and can cause a variety of different safety issues.   • It is impossible to get the headlight doors to close
  • There is a noticeable grinding noise when trying to close the headlight door
