Assuming the linkage between the throttle pedal and the engine is unobstructed (something you can check visually by checking around the gas pedal or floor mat for foreign objects that may be obstructing the path of the gas pedal), a sticky gas pedal is almost always due to accumulation of unwanted goo at the throttle body. This makes the action of opening and closing the throttle a notchy, imprecise operation.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • Throttle body is stuck
  • Gas pedal sensor malfunction
  • Accelerator cable broken
  • Accelerator pedal return spring broken

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the stuck gas pedal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

A stuck gas pedal presents a potentially dangerous situation and should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.

Toyota Camry L4-2.0L - Tune-up - Santa Clara, California
This is the best tune up and oil change on this car in last several years. We replaced CAP, wire, rotor, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, valve seal, and synthetic oil, oil filter. Honorio did a great job. I had this car tune up 10000 miles ago in dealer, but looks like dealer didn't replace all the needed parts for tune up. This time instead of go to dealer, I schedule with YourMechanic and ask Honorio to do tune up and oil change. Honorio did a great job, this car no longer emit smoke, and no longer miss fire, engine run smoothly now.
