Jay was very professsional, courteous and took the time to explain the issue. He actually had to come back again as the same problem resurfaced within a few days. Between Jay and YourMechanic, they took of the issue very professional and didn't charge me for the second time. I would gladly recommend Jay to my friends and family!

Excellent, prompt, professional service. James called ahead to inform me when to expect him and arrived when he said he would. He tested to verify that the problem was indeed the alternator, answered all of my husband's and my questions, and then got to work. When finished, he explained what was done and pointed out another thing he found. James is friendly and was very helpful and patient with our inquiries. Would highly recommend.

All about Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

The camshaft position sensor monitors the position of the camshaft and reports that data to the car’s onboard computer system. This computer system works with sensors and other devices to keep the engine running. With data from the camshaft position sensor (CPS), the fuel injectors know when to fire. When the sensor malfunctions, the computer does not know when to fire the injectors and may not fire them at all. The faulty readouts may also throw off spark timing, which will affect the car’s fuel economy. This sensor is used in conjunction with the crankshaft position sensor to control ignition timing. It is common for heat and oil leaks to cause this sensor to fail, due to where the sensor is located.
