Assuming the linkage between the throttle pedal and the engine is unobstructed (something you can check visually by checking around the gas pedal or floor mat for foreign objects that may be obstructing the path of the gas pedal), a sticky gas pedal is almost always due to accumulation of unwanted goo at the throttle body. This makes the action of opening and closing the throttle a notchy, imprecise operation.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • Throttle body is stuck
  • Gas pedal sensor malfunction
  • Accelerator cable broken
  • Accelerator pedal return spring broken

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the stuck gas pedal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

A stuck gas pedal presents a potentially dangerous situation and should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.

He was early, which turned out to work in my favor! He was very nice, professional, explained what I needed and didn't need (which made my total less and I appreciate that he didn't charge me for something I didn't need). He pointed things out that I should look out for when I explained that it was first car; something he probably didn't have to do. If I need services in the future, I hope I get him again.

I drove my car over a hundred miles and the car drove great. Then when I got to a traffic signal, stopped then tried to excelerate the car made a strange noise and it was a little difficult to get the car to pick up speed but eventually it did. Got on the freeway and everything was great until I got off the exit and came to another stop light and when I had to exceletrate slowly so the car could shift gears and I got home. Never experienced this before. The next morning I started my car just fine put it in drive and the car wouldn’t move. Put it in reverse and the car still wouldn’t move. It felt like the car was in neutral. I also noticed some transmission fluid under the car which wasn’t there before. I have an automatic transmission
