Jamahl is very professional and called and text ahead to ensure he will be there on time. Jamahl replaced my rotors and changed my wife's oil with such care. Jamahl also went over both cars very attentive to ensure the cars were running perfect. He also discovered an issue on my wife's car that I had no clue was there and gave great advice how much and how long to repair. I will from this point be coming back to Jamahl with my mechanics going forward. No pressure and very relaxing being at my home. Thanks Jamahl

This was the first time I used YourMechanic. I was ecstatic by how knowledgeable and friendly Jeffrey was. I am back on the road again. The service was also reasonable. I called several shops and their quotes were high in addition to having it towed to them. I am very pleased. Veronica

All about Brake Rotors/Discs Replacement

A brake rotor is a smooth metal disc attached to the wheel hub. Most new cars (1999 and above) come with rotors at each wheel. Older cars may have drums instead of rotors at the rear wheels . Brake rotors play an important part in the braking system. It is the friction between brake pads and rotors that cause your car to slow down and stop. As the rotors wear out (become thin or warped), they are unable to dissipate the heat caused by the braking system. This will cause the brake fluid to boil and reduce the effectiveness of brake system significantly.
