What is the Heater Blower Motor all about?

The heater blower motor forces air through the vents. You are able to control the speed of the motor through switches, buttons, and dials on the dashboard. The motor contains a resistor which allows it to change the speed of the fan. Without this part you will not be able to change the speed of the airflow from the blower motor.

Keep in mind:

A bad connector can cause a heater blower motor to stop working, even if the blower motor is still in working condition.
Sometimes the heater blower motor stops working because it is jammed or stuck; in this case it can been repaired rather than replaced.
If the heater blower motor has been damaged by a fluid leak, then another component of your vehicle is malfunctioning and needs to be addressed.

How it's done:

Inspect electrical circuits to check for power and proper grounding to motor.
Remove and replace the faulty motor.
Confirm that the heater is working.

Great experience, was notified 15 minutes before scheduled appointment, he arrived 2 minutes early. He was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable, had the repair done within 10 minutes, made recommendation and gave quote about replacing brakes and rotors, which I asked for, no hard sale no BS, did his job fixed my air conditioner and was on his way, told me that the back air blower would probably be fine and should not need replacing anytime soon. So happy I typed into google, "Are there any honest mechanics in Houston, Texas anymore?" Price was fair compared to local garage (Firestone) who quoted me 389.00(41.00 dollars more than I was charged) and before I got off the phone was telling me he was sure the back air blower was bad too. To have peace of mind that I won't die in the 100 degree heat this summer, is worth it. Thanks Daniel O, and My Mechanic!
