he was late to the appointment and got stuck in the traffic. But he did called ahead of time that he would be late so there is no big deal.

Robert was great. Showed up on time and did the work as expected - replace brake pads on a 2003 BMW 330i. He was also friendly and we had a nice chat while he worked. Would definitely recommend Robert, and will make YourMechanic.com my primary source for mechanic work!

My first time using this service and you're not sure how yur experience will be. Let me tell you Dan was great. Very friendly and actually was early for the appointment! He changed my rear brakes and explained everything. After finishing the job and test driving my car, he even diagnosed another issue I had been having, which had been previously detected at another shop. I'll definitely be calling on him again!

I’ve had my valve cover gasket replaced, brake pads & rotors replaced and 100k maintenance. Rusty is friendly, professional, reliable and very knowledgeable. Although I am sure Your Mechanic has lots of great mechanics, I don’t want to use anyone else but Rusty!!!!

All about Brake Pad Replacement

Depending on your car’s brake system, it may use between 4 to 8 brake pads. When you step on the brake pedal, the master cylinder sends fluid under pressure to the brake calipers (which hold the brake pads). The caliper presses the brake pad against the brake rotor, causing friction that slows down the car. During normal usage of the brakes, brake pads wear out and become thinner. If the thickness of brake pads is less than 3mm, it is time to change the pads. Depending on where you drive (city driving tends to wear pads out quicker) brake pads usually last between 30,000 to 35,000 miles. Some vehicles (e.g., BMWs) are equipped with a low-pad-warning system. In these vehicles, you will also need to replace the brake sensors as part of the brake pad service.
