Tom was extremely competent in diagnosing the possible reasons for the leaks. He proved to me several things that were NOT the cause as some other mechanics claimed. And was very honest with his assessments. Looking forward to him taking care of my car from now on.

Casey was knowledgable about the services performed on my car. He recommended future services and was honest about how urgently I needed to get these taken care of. He took the time to answer my questions and explain why he made the recommendations he did. Most importantly, he wasn't pushy about the recommended services/didn't try to upsell. This was my first time using YourMechanic and I was impressed with how convenient and affordable the service is. Definitely will use them again.

All about Intake Manifold Gaskets Replacement

The intake manifold is an aluminum, steel or plastic cover that sits on top of the engine. It is attached to the top of the engine by an intake manifold gasket (or gaskets) that is made of plastic and rubber. The intake manifold directs the air-fuel mixture in the engine to the corresponding cylinder where it is burned to produce power. The coolant flows through the intake manifold to the cylinder heads to reduce engine temperature. Expansion, contraction, and heat from the engine cause the gasket to fail. This will cause coolant passing through the intake manifold to leak. A leaky manifold gasket can also result in air being sucked through the leaky gasket, resulting in a vacuum leak and poor engine performance.
