What is the Reverse Light Bulb all about?

Reverse lights are an important safety feature on modern vehicles. They exist at the back of your car, and light up when you put your transmission in reverse. This alerts motorists and pedestrians around you that your car will be moving in reverse, and helps your surroundings be more aware of what your vehicle is going to do.

Keep in mind:

If your reverse lights aren’t working, you may not have a bad light bulb, but instead the issue could be a blown fuse.

Our recommendation:

There is no preemptive care for light bulbs, so it’s important to check them from time to time to make sure they’re still working. It’s a good idea to check all of your vehicle’s lights about once a month. Since your reverse light bulbs only light up when your car is in reverse, it can be difficult to check if they’re working unless you have a helping hand. You can check the reverse light bulbs yourself by turning the ignition to “on” (but not turning the engine on), and putting the car in reverse. You can then get out of the vehicle without it moving, and check to see if your lights are working.

What common symptoms indicate you may need to replace the Reverse Light Bulb?

Reverse light bulbs don’t light up when vehicle is in reverse.

How important is this service?

Reverse lights exist solely as a safety feature. When you put your vehicle in reverse, the reverse light switch turns on the reverse light bulbs. These bulbs let your surroundings, such as pedestrians and other drivers, know that you’re about to drive in reverse. When your reverse light bulbs stop working, your surroundings won’t have any visual cues that you’re about to reverse. This not only makes your vehicle less safe, but is also illegal in many states.

Mercedes-Benz C320 V6-3.2L - Power door locks are not working - Phoenix, Arizona
I have had a bad experience with Your Mechanic from the very beginning. I'm a first time customer. I scheduled my very first appt. with Your Mechanic. 30 min past the scheduled time YM was suppose to be at my place, I get a text saying he won't be able to make it. So I rescheduled for the next available time which was 3 days later. I get another cancellation notice from YM. At this point I was really disappointed and frustrated I had made special arrangements to be available for both scheduled appts. Finally He shows up 30 min past the scheduled appt, He does a inspection on my issue, looks at it then tells me he cant work on it wrong part.. So he finished up. He told me that I should only be charged $25 or $30 dollars for this appt. He spent less than an hour. He assured me he put in his notes to YM to adjust my account accordingly. Well of course my account was not adjusted to reflect that amount. So I called customer service at YM and spoke with Paul Who put in for a refund and expedite my claim. Said it would be 24-48 hours. before I would receive a response from YM management. I have had to go through so much unnecessary drama just to have a mechanic look at my car issues. To be honest this is not a very good first impression I have of YM. Robert was nice and seem to know what needed to be done for my car. But my experience with YM has been bad from the start and I am not pleased at all. I just would like my refund and that will be all I would like to hear from YM.
