It was my first time using Your Mechanics and it won’t be the last because of Jason’s excellent service. Jason called me before the visit to recommend using a different brand of spark plugs to save a decent chunk of money (ngk vs denco). During his visit, I was in and out of the garage but while, Jason clearly explained what he was doing. Definitely not for everyone but I rather enjoyed learning about my own car instead of being completely in the dark during regular garage visits. There was a quirk in how my car readjusts idle control after the spark plugs are changed. Jason stuck around for an extra hour until he figured it out (answer: disconnect battery for 10min). I felt comfortable through out the process. Highly recommend Jason.

Rod

Rod took great care of the car & suggested some up coming maintenance as this is an older car I have given to my son to drive. He did not try to pressure me into any additional services and was able to get the part and come back the same day. Rod is my new mechanic for both cars. Why would any one go to a shop and sit and wait to pay more money. I am a fan of this service!

Robert was professional, thorough, and overall awesome. He called prior to arrival to make sure I was available and let me know what he was doing prior to working on my car.

I know I should probably say something like "Anthony was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and courteous". However, that description just doesn't do him justice. The fact of the matter is that it's becoming increasingly rare for me to be able to say that they've had a bona fide 'above and beyond' experience with a company/service provider. That being said, my experience with Anthony is definitely one of them! TLDR: Anthony is awesome!

All about Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

The camshaft position sensor monitors the position of the camshaft and reports that data to the car’s onboard computer system. This computer system works with sensors and other devices to keep the engine running. With data from the camshaft position sensor (CPS), the fuel injectors know when to fire. When the sensor malfunctions, the computer does not know when to fire the injectors and may not fire them at all. The faulty readouts may also throw off spark timing, which will affect the car’s fuel economy. This sensor is used in conjunction with the crankshaft position sensor to control ignition timing. It is common for heat and oil leaks to cause this sensor to fail, due to where the sensor is located.
