Very professional and friendly. Jerel arrived at my house before the estimated time and promptly got to work. I was amazed of how thorough he was inspecting and diagnosing my vehicle. Not only did he find the problem, he immediately knew how he would handle it and fixed my vehicle for me. This was my first time using YourMechanic and I would use them again and recommend the service, and I would highly recommend you request Jerel for his knowledge, demeanor, and if you want your vehicle fixed right.

Justin arrives a little late; however, he completed the diagnostic on a timely fashion. He thoroughly explained the code and what exactly needs to happen for the engine light to come off. He provided in depth summary, media, details and recommendation via email. The media was useful. He provided photos for the fault. The voice notes described reason for visit, problem found, and service provided. Justin completed a cost estimate for Your Mechanic to process.

All about Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

The camshaft position sensor monitors the position of the camshaft and reports that data to the car’s onboard computer system. This computer system works with sensors and other devices to keep the engine running. With data from the camshaft position sensor (CPS), the fuel injectors know when to fire. When the sensor malfunctions, the computer does not know when to fire the injectors and may not fire them at all. The faulty readouts may also throw off spark timing, which will affect the car’s fuel economy. This sensor is used in conjunction with the crankshaft position sensor to control ignition timing. It is common for heat and oil leaks to cause this sensor to fail, due to where the sensor is located.
