Assuming the linkage between the throttle pedal and the engine is unobstructed (something you can check visually by checking around the gas pedal or floor mat for foreign objects that may be obstructing the path of the gas pedal), a sticky gas pedal is almost always due to accumulation of unwanted goo at the throttle body. This makes the action of opening and closing the throttle a notchy, imprecise operation.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • Throttle body is stuck
  • Gas pedal sensor malfunction
  • Accelerator cable broken
  • Accelerator pedal return spring broken

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the stuck gas pedal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

A stuck gas pedal presents a potentially dangerous situation and should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.

Chevrolet K1500 V8-5.0L - Clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor - Sacramento, California
Chris is a professional, well trained, and punctual technician. He will do his best to explain questions you have but we all no some people just don't get mechanical work and you can't explain anything to them. He will make suggestions if he sees something that was not on your report for the sake of you having a safe vehicle because I feel he genuinely cares about people and the safety of others on the road. Example being my clutch is out and Chris inspected that but also notified me the wear tabs on my front brakes were something to be considered for inspection and that I should look at doing that fairly soon as to prevent higher cost in repairs at a later date. Thank you Chris
