Patrick did a great job he is a very well qualified mechanic. And he is most pleasant to work with very courteous and helpful. We had one oxygen sensor that the GM company sent us that was the wrong plug and part. Patrick noticed it right way and I had to reschedule him to come back when I receive the replacement. Matthew is a true professional. It was like having a personal mechanic. I wasn't sure where the issue was regarding my brakes (front/back, pads or rotors). Matthew walked me through potential issues and told me he would only do the work required. He found the issue and identified a major safety concern with my brakes. He allowed me to see for myself what the problem was and described exactly how the work would be done. It was reassuring knowing that I could get a professional mechanic that can solve my brake problem at my convenience and at my home. I would more than likely use Your Mechanic for my auto service and definitely request Matthew as my auto professional.

All about CV Axle / Shaft Assembly Replacement

Axle shafts are commonly referred to as “CV axles” or “half-shafts.” An axle shaft is a narrow, pole-like part that connects a wheel to the gears in the transmission. Axles are part of the system that enables the wheels to rotate. One end of the axle shaft is connected to the transmission and the other end is connected to the wheel. The transmission rotates the axle shafts, which rotates the wheels. Without the axles, the tires will not rotate and the car will not move. Axle shafts are comprised of four components: shaft, CV joints, grease and the boots (grease container). The most common reason for the axle to fail is because of the torn boots (grease leaking out). Without the grease, the CV joints will not get lubricated, dirt will enter the joint and the whole axle will eventually wear out.
