First time jitters (risk vs. reward) with YourMechanic. Well worth it after the experience working with Jason. Solely because of the overall pleasant and professional experience with him would I try YourMechanic again. He did a thorough test and review of the auto shop that had diagnosed a fault and cut down my cost by negating one of the things the shop had recommended to do. He provided relevant information about the repair and the underlying system, which put me at ease about his knowledge. He is really diligent and follows up as promised. Thank you Jason - as you can imagine I hope not to see you soon, but in case I need to then you will be my first choice :)

The quick responsiveness of your customer service portal and of your customer service personnel over the phone is extraordinary. I was a little reluctant to try at first, but the YourMechanic team that came to my door brought his A-game expertise and his A-game professionalism with him. Right away, he pointed out what he would do to undertake daignosing the root cause of the engine problem, and plan out how to implement an effective fix. He took the time to clearly explain where the problem was, and did not mind explaining it more than once for clarity as I'm not tech-savvy. And once he concluded, he made sure to show me what he indicated in his report, for my peace of mind and for total transparency. Very mindful of how valuable and flat-out superb the service you provide is, that is the impression me and my family have of YourMechanic.

All about Strut Assembly Replacement

The strut assembly, an essential part of your car's suspension system, is attached to the front wheels and is used to absorb road shock, providing a smooth ride. Most cars made after 1995 have shock absorbers in the rear and strut assemblies in the front suspension. Older cars may have shock absorbers at all four wheels. Faulty or damaged struts affect the ride comfort as well as the braking effectiveness. The strut assembly, located in the front or rear of the car, is basically a shock absorber with a spring coil for additional support. The front wheels have the extra weight of the engine and need extra support to absorb shock from the road. The shock absorber has a piston and a cylinder that contains a gas or liquid substance. The spring is attached to the piston. When you drive over a bump, the piston inside the cylinder moves up and down against the gas/fluid and the spring, absorbing the shock from the bump. The strut assembly takes a beating over time, especially on bumpy roads. It will eventually start leaking the gas/liquid, leaving you with an unstable or rugged ride. With worn out struts, it is possible that the tires could lose contact with the road and/or the tires will wear out prematurely.
