This was my first time using YourMechanic so I was a little hesitant. But Richard was absolutely awesome. I'll probably request him for future auto appointments. He was here on time for the appointment (in fact a bit early!), and did the job in 40 minutes. All while I was able to get some work done at home. Is this the next big thing in the DMV? Had a coolant leak. Needed an engine gasket and thermostat replaced. Also needed a flush of the coolant system and oil change. It was a very long job and Danny was dedicated to getting it done. He also gave me other automotive advice and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The car is no longer overheating or leaking. He did a great job. I would definitely use this service again.

All about Ignition Coil Replacement

Ignition coils transform low voltage electrical power 12 volts D.C. to high voltage current 50,000 volts D.C. or higher. The spark generated by the ignition coil ignites the fuel and air mixture in the engine that enables the car to start and run smoothly. If an ignition coil is not working properly, no spark will ignite the air fuel mixture, causing a misfire. A bad ignition coil can severely damage the engine or catalytic converter. If your car is equipped with “coil over plugs,” then it is recommended that you replace the spark plugs. If your car uses a single coil for the ignition system, it is not necessary to change the spark plugs.
