When the pressure is too low, not enough oil is being pumped through the engine to lubricate and cool components. When pressure drops below a threshold set by the automaker, the engine oil light on the car’s dashboard illuminates, warning you that driving could be dangerous.
Your car’s oil pressure sensor is an electrical component, and can be subjected to a number of issues, including wiring damage. If you suspect damage to the sensor, or have noticed your oil light come on, have it inspected and diagnosed by one of our expert mechanics.
