What is the Door Handle or Door Latch all about?

The car has at least two door handles per door: one on the inside and another on the outside. Due to frequent use, they will eventually break down and could need repair. Sometimes the handle itself is fine, but there is a problem with the door latch assembly that prevents the door from shutting and locking properly.

Keep in mind:

  • Sometimes the visible part of the door handle needs to be replaced, and sometimes the mechanism hidden inside the door needs to be replaced.
  • If the exterior door handle doesn’t work, there’s a good chance that the interior door handle is also faulty.
  • If physical damage (such as an accident) has caused the door handle to break, there may also be damage to the door lock switch or door lock actuator.

  • Remove the door panel to gain access.
  • Remove and replace the broken door handle.
  • Inspect door latch and replace if not working.
  • Check door for proper operation.
  • Reinstall door panel.

I have an issue with my 2008 hyundai Santa Fe, when I accelerate there is a loud noise that sounds like an airplane jet engine noise before its about to take off and continues the entire time I'm driving which to me sounds like a purge valve on the engine /canister is bad however when I let off the accelerator, no brakes applied at all and I hear this bad crunching grinding sound and tapping sound..what could it be? It is so annoying!!!
