Can you tell us more about what you do at YourMechanic?
I am the Head of Business Development for the fleet division. It means that I acquire new business customers for the fleet division of YourMechanic. I am also involved in high-level account management and advise other divisions on best practices.
Why did you join YourMechanic?
I have spent many years in the automotive world from necessary repair to the race car/hotrod industry to rentals. YourMechanic is one of the most innovative players in the automotive world, and I wanted to be a part of it.
What was your first car and what do you love or hate about it?
My first car was a Volvo 265GL station wagon. I loved that I could carry a ton of friends and the car was indestructible. I hated the sub-200 horsepower engine, but I am sure the lack of power is probably what kept me alive.
What’s your dream car?
There’s a long list of cars I would love to own. A while back I got to spend a weekend with a highly-modified Noble M400 wide-body. It weighed about 2000 lbs and had over 600 horsepower. That was the quickest thing I have ever driven and would be pretty high on the list.
What one accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my success as a professional musician. While I am not a household name, I did play on albums with national distribution and participated in large scale tours. I am very proud to have fought my way up earning the experiences and recognition that I did.
Who has had the most influence on you growing up?
In high school, I went through a magnet program called Learning Community. The teacher, Gary, taught me a vast amount about critical thought, follow-through, and personal responsibility.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
I spent some of my youth as a professional musician, and I still play for fun. When time permits, I enjoy Autocross.
What kind of music do you like to listen to?
There is a variety. My playlist is pretty diverse; it bounces from Pantera to Dave Brubeck to Phish to James Brown. Recently, I have been getting into a New Orleans musician named Kermit Ruffins.
Do you have a favorite quote? If so, what is it?
What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited and why?
A few years ago I spent a couple of weeks driving in Croatia, and I genuinely love the place. It is Yosemite on a Mediterranean Beach with castles.
