Can you tell us more about what you do at YourMechanic?

I’m an Accounting Associate here at YourMechanic and work with the Finance team to make sure everything runs smoothly on that side of the business. I work a lot with invoices that mechanics create when ordering and picking up parts and also parts recon to make sure all parts are accounted for, either used or returned. I also help out wherever I’m needed in the finance department with things such as accounts receivable and answering mechanic questions about general billing and parts return process.

Why did you join YourMechanic?

I joined YourMechanic because as my first full-time job out of college, I wanted to work at a place where I could learn as much about the business side of companies as possible, as well as a place where I could gain more responsibilities and grow as a person. The culture at the company fits my personality well, and I’m working at a place where I feel comfortable and can be myself.

What was your first car and what do you love or hate about it?

The first car that was really mine was a white Ford F-150, not sure about the year but I’d guess the mid-2000s. It taught me a lot about being careful with driving as it was super long - I was grateful for it but was ready to drive a smaller, more manageable car. I was much happier in the Honda Fit that I drove after!

What keeps you motivated?

I believe my motivation comes from my desire to want to make a more significant impact. Regardless of what I’m involved in at the time, I always want to leave my mark and try to be a positive force. My goal in my work life is to learn as much as possible, and I feel that taking on responsibilities in all facets of the business not only helps the company but also helps me as a person.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

When I have personal time, I love to watch sports (go Giants!), movies & TV, as well as read a good book or try and finish the NY Times crossword. I also spend a lot of time with friends, some with whom I live with, and we like to explore new places, eat good food and have a fun time wherever we are.

Who would you most like to swap places with for the day?

I’m most passionate about baseball and movies, so while this is technically cheating, I’d love to trade places with anybody who works in an MLB front office and experience that side of the sport, or a Hollywood exec who’s in charge of making movies. I love watching baseball so seeing how teams are run sounds is extremely interesting to me, and the same goes for films, but how they’re made as opposed to managed.

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever visited and why?

After I graduated from Santa Clara University, I traveled across eight countries in Europe and they were all fantastic, but Italy was my favorite. I minored in Classical Studies so seeing all the things I’ve learned about in person blew me away, and the food was to die for. I ate nothing but pizza and pasta for almost two weeks! I can’t wait to get back.
