Assuming the linkage between the throttle pedal and the engine is unobstructed (something you can check visually by checking around the gas pedal or floor mat for foreign objects that may be obstructing the path of the gas pedal), a sticky gas pedal is almost always due to accumulation of unwanted goo at the throttle body. This makes the action of opening and closing the throttle a notchy, imprecise operation.

Common reasons for this to happen:

  • Throttle body is stuck
  • Gas pedal sensor malfunction
  • Accelerator cable broken
  • Accelerator pedal return spring broken

What to expect:

A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the cause of the stuck gas pedal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.

How important is this service?

A stuck gas pedal presents a potentially dangerous situation and should be inspected by a professional mechanic as soon as possible.

Friendly and skilled. I enjoyed meeting and working a bit with Jeff. He has the tenacity and temperment needed to work on a BMW and complete the job. We had some parts issues, but Jeff solved these. Due to his non-ASE certification, Jeff cannot repair what he determined to be a faulty water pump. I'm leaving 3 stars because he told me he would fix this, but I'm unable to schedule this repair with Jeff or any of your mechanics. Why?? Also, cleanup and test drive was left to me. Why??
