Q: Why is TPMS reading 0 psi after tire replacement and all sensors are functional

Last week I got all new tires and 1 new sensor (the rest were functional). I got a flat tire Friday so the spare had to be put on. The shop replaced the tire. The TPMS was reading 0 psi for the new tire. They told me to drive for a bit and it would read the correct psi. This never happened so I brought the car back the next day. They went through the relearn procedures 3 times all were successful and the sensors were tested. The TPMS is still displaying 0 psi for the tire. What could be the issue?

It’s unclear if the sensor on the wheel where the tire ran flat was replaced as well. Running the tire flat could have damaged that sensor; and, a damaged sensor is indeed the most likely cause of the symptom that you are reporting. If a new sensor does not resolve the issue, the recommended diagnostic to resolve this is a warning light diagnostic - TPMS.
