Q: What does the check tire pressure warning mean?

Your car’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is designed to alert you if one of your tires drops below the threshold pressure (PSI). It does this by turning on the Low Tire Pressure light on the dash. However, you will also see a warning in the vehicle information display that tells you to check your tire pressure. This is a supplemental warning designed to work in conjunction with the Low Tire Pressure light. To turn off the light, you just need to inflate the tire that’s low on air back to its cold tire pressure (found on the driver side door placard). Drive the car and let the system recheck, and both the

warning and the Low Tire Pressure light should go out.
