Hi they’re I’ve got a vw pol 1.2 3 cyl I’ve just done a cam chain on it as isit was throuwing up code saying crank shaft sensor I then changed that and then still giving same code so I done my cam chain as it had jumped a tooth I have now done that and now when it is up to temperature it lacks acceleration power and also struggles to start ones I’ve turned it of do Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the connectors on the sensor itself? Okay mate but it all linned up as I had to put keys in to crank shaft and cam shaft to lock it of and it all lined up when I put new chain ondo u know what psi it should give out of compression test

125 psi to 150 psi is normal

If you used the locking tools then it must be ok...

Well yeah I put on locking tool where the cam shaft sensor goes and one tool in where the crank sensor goes I did have to rest the timing by putting cam shaft tool in first and in then I had to crack the cam shaft sprocket off then tun it till the crank shaft lined up it was only out a half a tooth or so so now they do line up so I don’t think the timing can be wrong what do u think?

Please stop guessing i think you will find a problem with compression test...

if I compression test it and it’s low means one of the valves are f\*\*ked basically or engine is scrap be cheaper to replace it

The valves run so close you may have just clipped one which is enough to make a difference..

Okay mate will check that then go from they’re if it does need a new valve could u give me the information to changed like the gauge it needs to be away from cam lobe etc all info I would need

That is tappets , you need to remove plugs and use a compression tester..

They are hydraulic tappets no adjustment reqd..

No adjustment at all even if I change the valve in it

That’s the problem the cylinder closest to gearbox is only giving out 80 psiDo u think it could have dropped a piston or just need new valve ?

When you purchase the head set the torque settings come with it, change oil and filter and dont forget anti freeze..When you set up the timing turn the engine over by hand twice and not with the key...

Poor fluid into ports see if the fluid leaks out of the valves. When you purchase head gasket the torque settings are in there...

Yeah I did poor petrol down them and didn’t leak
