Q: Steering wheel stuck

asked by on February 04, 2016

My car is not starting. The steering wheel is tuck.

Hi there. If the steering wheel is stuck and if the vehicle will not start then these problems may be related to one another. If the steering wheel is locked in one direction then that can cause the ignition to be stuck. Pulling on the steering wheel in either direction while turning the key may release it. If the key is turning and not unlocking the steering wheel or starting the vehicle then the ignition switch has more than likely broke in the housing and will not release the column lock. This column would need to be disassembled to inspect this. I’d recommend having a mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, come and diagnose your car’s starting issue and steering wheel problem.
