It is possible to bypass the compressor by removing the old compressor and installing a compressor bypass pulley. The pulley will bolt in the same location as the compressor. You may want to have the compressor pulley checked to see if it can be replaced on the compressor itself and just not use the a/c. This is an alternative to installing a new compressor. Have a mechanic like one from YourMechanic come check the a/c for you to see exactly what can be done either to fix the a/c or bypass the compressor.
