Q: Right rear tire joint broken
I think my car's right rear tire joint broke. How would I know if it did?
The rear tire of your vehicle rides on a hub bearing. If the bearing separates, the tire can come off with a portion of the hub attached. Typically before this happens, a bearing will start making roaring or grinding noises as you drive. Separation of the hub is the last thing that happens if the signs of failure are ignored. A mechanic can perform an inspection to determine the extent of the damage.
