Q: Ratchet-style lock vs. pin lock car jack stands
Car jack stands, just wondering ratchet-style lock or pin lock-what would you consider safer?
As far as jack stands go, the pin locks are by far the safest if they have thick pins. Once you get the car up and you have that big thick metal rolling pin secured in there, nothing beats it.
The ratchet ones are good if they are those solid steel ones. Generally they are perfectly well made and suitable for use but to me nothing beats the steel rolling pin, your car will be absolutely secure on those.
