Normally when this happens and the terminals were connected backward.
Check and sure you put pos on pos and neg on neg. I have this done before if they are put on backward.

No they put on right it's got a little Monica in there on the cable what I put them on and they spark

Is it a large spark or a small spark?
I have seen stores give out batteries with the posts reversed by mistake before.
