Brakes, Steering and Suspension Inspection $94.99 - $114.99 Get a Quote

Hi there - sounds like your tires/wheels are out of balance, out of round or you have a bent wheel. The "scrubbing" noise when the front suspension is compressed going over bumps also suggests that the tires are rubbing on some other suspension component, or perhaps the wheel well liner. I would recommend a steering and suspension inspection by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, diagnose this problem, give you an accurate assessment of damage and cost estimate for repairs. I would then have a reputable tire shop inspect and re-balance your tires.

Inside driver side door handle broken
If your interior door handle is not working perhaps the linkage clips have been broken, or come undone. Vehicle door handles operate using a system of levers and linkages, so I would recommend a thorough inspection of the door linkage...
Driver's side door handle broke
Hi. That’s a pretty easy fix. If it is the outside handle, it will need painted, unless you buy a used one. If it is the inside, the door panel will need to be removed. If you would like this...
Zip ties for holding a bumper
Sure, I've seen people do it all the time. Just realize that, when you've got zip ties, the next time you hit something the zip ties are likely going to break and cause the bumper to fall off. But yes,...
Replaced the transmission and now car won't start
I highly doubt the powertrain control module (PCM) (also known as the ECU (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-is-a-vehicle-s-electrical-control-unit)) is bad. Code P025A indicates a problem with a faulty fuel pump (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pump-replacement) or its circuit, which could definitely be causing the problems you are having....

Hearing a knocking/popping sound somewhere in the front of the car when driving.
There could be multiple issues causing the mystery sound you're hearing on your 2005 Mazda. My first inclination would be to check the steering stabilizer bar bushings (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/stabilizer-bar-bushings-replacement), but if those were replaced, it could be an issue with your...
Ac and heater are not blowing air
Hi there: In many cases, the failure of the blower motor to actually blow air into the cabin is caused by a blower motor resistor (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-long-does-a-heater-blower-motor-resistor-last). This component is usually installed behind the dashboard or underneath the blower motor and...
Car jerks when no gas applied
Hi There, What you are describing sounds like you may have a dirty or faulty idle air control valve. The idle air control valve (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/idle-control-valve-replacement) is a small valve on the engine's intake system that reads the air intake as...

Hello - if the mechanic waited until the car was re-assembled after the water pump job to suggest timing chain repair, then "yes", s/he was not doing you any favor. Doing the timing chain repair separately is essentially repeating the...
