Check Engine Light is on Inspection $94.99 - $114.99 Get a Quote

Hi there:

If you had the throttle body replaced and the error codes still exist, it’s possible that one of two things have occurred. First, if the codes were never reset and removed from the ECU, they will still show up during a scan; even if a problem doesn’t exist. Second, although it’s rare, it’s possible that the sensors or electrical harnesses attached to throttle body sensors are faulty; which are triggering the code. The best way to solve this issue is to have a professional mobile mechanic complete a check engine light inspection, so they can reset the codes, start the vehicle again and see if they return.

Misfiring on a 2003 Audi A4 3.0
You've got to replace the cover gasket valve that's leaking oil in the spark plugs (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/oil-is-leaking-into-spark-plug-well-inspection). But that's not going to get it to run better right away. But I would change that. If it's running poorly, it's not going...

Hi there. For the valve seats to drop out of the cylinder head(s), the engine overheat (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/what-causes-a-car-to-overheat) must of been severe. Assuming you followed proper procedure replacing the cylinder heads. This would lead me to believe it to be the...
One strut mount we up with a dust cap on, one without. How big of a deal is it?
Hi Dan. Thanks for the question today. In regards to geometry, handling and "whether it's fine", a dust cap should not have that great of an impact. I'm curious as to why the mechanic did this - as to me,...
