I'm Paul, I will help you with your question today. unfortunately a code reader or a scan tool is required to read and clear the fault code. 100's of faults can trigger the Light and a fault code is stored in the computer. you need to bring it to your nearest national chain parts store like Advance Auto or Autozone and they can read the code that triggered your engine light. once you have that code I can help you with the most common failures and test procedures. the fuel rail pressure sensor is a very common failure on these. See test procedure with confirmed repairs below. [https://peapull.com/o/1605828072.pdf](https://peapull.com/o/1605828072.pdf) the parts store will not clear the codes for you to see if it returns if you want the ability to clear your own codes to see if they are intermitent or hard codes I would get an OBD II code reader online they work on all cars 1996 and newer to read and erase fault codes.
